March

March 22nd — 100-Mile-Radius Potluck

6:00pm, no admission fee, just bring a local foods dish and a healthy appetite
Arden Hearth will host the March gathering of this monthly communal meal. What is a 100-mile-radius potluck? All the food you bring should be made from ingredients that have been grown within 100 miles of your home. Clearly, this can be a challenge! We don't need to take it too seriously - if you want to use cumin in your dish, and can't find any grown locally, feel free to toss it in anyway - no one will be checking your dish at the door! Sharing stories of our pitfalls and surprises will be the tastiest treat of all.
If you need some shopping ideas, check out this local food guide containing dozens of farms within 30 miles of Richmond. If you want to use something that just isn't grown around here, try to at least buy it locally - the Clear Creek Co-op is a great local grocery.
The potluck is sponsored by Progressive Wayne County. Contact Anna Lisa Gross (765-914-2973 or annalisa144@gmail.com) with questions or suggestions. View pictures
